A few nights ago, I attended what my church calls "Next." We like to encourage people to "take the next step." For some people, that means accepting the gift of salvation that is offered freely through the death and resurrection of Jesus. For others it means baptism or membership or joining a Bible study.

I've been a member of this church for four years or so, but I've been attending and serving for over a decade at this particular church. I love my church! Most of the "Next Steps" the meeting encouraged people to take, I've already taken.

So why go to this particular meeting?

So that I can better interact with newer attenders. Attending this meeting helped me to understand what they are hearing at these meetings. Attending this meeting wasn't about me. It was about being better equipped to interact with others.

This year's Challenge is to prioritize people and intentionally invest in relationships. Whether those are relationships you've measured in decades or minutes. What can you do to prioritize people in your life this week?
