I love using this blog space to promote events in my community, so if there is something going on in NEPA you want people to know about, let me know!
This week you need to know about CareNet of Scranton's Walk for Life. I've written about them before, so I'll describe their mission briefly. CareNet is a national organization, and we have a Scranton chapter, that seeks to help women facing an unplanned pregnancy. CareNet offers free services and presents alternatives to abortion. Their free services include pregnancy testing; pregnancy options counseling; medical, adoption, and community referrals; post-abortion support; and other services.

CareNet of Scranton wants to add free ultrasounds to that list, and they need our help! On Saturday, October 14, they will be hosting a fundraising walk at Aylesworth Park in Jermyn, rain or shine. Check-in is 9:30, and the walk begins at 10 AM. You can walk alone or bring a group. It's a beautiful park, and a wonderful cause!
You can read more about the fundraiser on their web site.
